Active and Healthy – First Foods for Infants
Nutrition Australia Qld hosts nutrition education sessions as part of Logan City Council’s Active and Healthy program. Our qualified and experienced dietitians will provide helpful information on feeding your infant and answer any questions you may have regarding nutrition and first foods.
First Foods for Infants – Nutrition information session for parents and carers
This casual information session will provide information for families and carers on feeding their infants including first foods. Workshops will discuss the importance of infants and children experiencing food texture appropriate to their age and stage of development which will assist a child’s speech development, oral health and motor skill development. Sessions will also include practical tips on how to make food for infants.
You are welcome to bring babies/children along, please advise on how many are attending so we can adhere to capacity restrictions.

COVID-19 UPDATE
In line with the QLD Government’s COVID Safe Framework we will be adhering to all restrictions in place throughout our workshops. We have updated our Workplace Health and Safety plans to include COVID risks and how to manage these risks and our facilitators have undertaken COVID Safety training. We will be adhering to the physical distancing requirements during the workshop and have strict sanitising procedures in place.
Important – if you are showing signs of cold or flu, have travelled in the last 14 days (domestically or internationally) or have been in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, we are unable to let you attend the workshop.

Margo Montgomerie
Dietitian/Nutritionist APD
Margo is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with experience in community and paediatric primary health care. Special interests include working with a diverse range of cultures and families. Prior to becoming a dietitian, Margo worked for over 10 years as a childcare centre cook, providing her with the insight and motivation for being on the Food Foundations team.
Rosie Mohr
Dietitian/Nutritionist APD
Rosie is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with a diverse range of experiences in the field of nutrition, with a strong focus on preventative health.
