GOLD – Cooking Workshops

Nutrition Australia Qld hosts cooking workshops as part of Brisbane City Council’s Growing Older and Living Dangerously (GOLD) program. Each hands on workshop is run by our qualified dietitians and nutritionists and includes food and nutrition tips to help you make healthy choices. People with all levels of cooking skills are welcome. Our workshops are a chance to develop new skills and gain confidence in a relaxed and social environment.

Wednesday 13th July – Winter Warmers

Come along to our hands on workshop to learn how to nourish the soul and support a healthy immune system this winter.

Wednesday 27th July – Cooking for 1 or 2

Creating a feast for 1 or 2 people doesn’t have to be daunting. Our dietitian will share some recipes and tips on cooking smaller meals.

Monday 15th August – Mediterranean Cooking

The Mediterranean diet is full of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, olive oil and fish. In this workshop we explore the health benefits of Mediterranean eating and sample tasty dishes for you to try at home.

Friday 25th November – Christmas Crowd Pleasers

Tis the season to create special occasion dishes that are perfect for sharing. In this hands-on cooking session you will be the chef and consume the final product at the end of the session.

Margo is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with experience in community and paediatric primary health care.  Special interests include working with a diverse range of cultures and families.
