KRANK School Holiday Program – Cooking Workshops

Nutrition Australia Qld hosts cooking workshops as part of Logan City Council’s Krank School Holiday program. Each hands on workshop is run by our qualified dietitians and nutritionists and includes food and nutrition tips to help your child make healthy choices. All cooking skill levels are welcome. Our workshops are a chance to develop new skills and gain confidence in a relaxed and social environment.

Wednesday 29th June – Street Food (12 – 17 years ONLY)

Enjoy making fresh and healthy street food dishes in this hands on workshop.

Time: 10 – 11:30am

Location: The Little Vege Patch – 121 Barbarella Drive, Springwood

Thursday 7th July – World’s Best Burgers (5 – 11 years ONLY)

Come along to this fun cooking class and learn how to make your own delicious burger.

Time: 10 – 11:30am

Location: Beenleigh Neighbourhood Centre – 10 – 12 James Street, Beenleigh

Thursday 22nd September – Makings of a MasterChef (5 – 11 years ONLY)

Join us for a hands on cooking workshop where you will learn tasty recipes and basic cooking skills to make you feel like a Masterchef.

Time: 10 – 11:30am

Location: Logan Village Community Centre – Wharf Street, Logan Village

Friday 23rd September – Sushi Cooking Class (12 – 17 years ONLY)

Learn the art of preparing delicious healthy sushi and gyozas in this hands on workshop!

Time: 10 – 11:30am

COVID-19 UPDATE

Please note – Due to Queensland Government restrictions regarding gatherings, siblings and parents will not be allowed into the venue unless booked in. Please call or email us if your child needs you to attend or requires more assistance. Cash payments on the day will not be accepted, please pay online.

Important – if you are showing signs of cold or flu, have travelled in the last 14 days (domestically or internationally) or have been in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, we are unable to let you attend the workshop. If you have booked into the course and reply yes to any of these,  please know in advance and we will refund or postpone your booking.

Some information about our workshops

  • KRANK workshops are open to Logan residents aged 5 – 11 years and 12 – 17 years
  • $3 per person
  • Please advise of any allergies or dietary requirements
  • All participants must wear closed in shoes
  • To book multiple children please do a separate registration for each child
  • Maximum of 4 children per adult (adult is not required to participate)

Margo Montgomerie

Dietitian/Nutritionist APD

Margo is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with experience in community and paediatric primary health care.  Special interests include working with a diverse range of cultures and families.

 

Rosie Mohr

Dietitian/Nutritionist APD

Rosie is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with a diverse range of experiences in the field of nutrition, with a strong focus on preventative health.
